Use of Components

Near the end of the playtest I heard a rumor that, if you were a Naturalist, you could only use components of the type you had specialized in for Binding/Naturalism (so, my geologist can't use any Bonding skills with zoological components, only geological ones, for example). Has that been confirmed or denied yet?

Acclimate says "In order to use this ability, you must expend a component who type matches your specialty."

Preservation says "This skill allows you to prevent up to 2 components matching your specialty from expiring between games"

Conversion says "This spell allows you to temporarily change the elemental alignment of a component or to change the type of a component to that of your specialty". That must work on components of other specialties.

Elemental Catalyst, Materials Instillation, and Basic Concentration don't presently state any such requirement, although that could change.

Since Binding doesn't have a prereq of Naturalist, it would be odd if also purchasing Naturalist made Binding less useful. I doubt that's the case.

There is no Naturalism pre-req for any of the Binding skills in the basic set. Those restrictions are just for skills within Naturalism that reference Specialty. We will certainly make a note to clean up any language in the skills that is not clear.
